Who Are We?
The Royal Canadian Army Cadets (RCAC) program is designed for teens aged 12 to 19. Our focus is on developing skills in youth that will lead to a transition into adulthood full of confidence, purpose, discipline and determination.
The RCAC program offers opportunities and experiences that are hard to find elsewhere, and they are provided free of charge to cadets.
The RCAC program encourages cadets to learn skills both practical and mental to teach, lead, follow, and learn. Above all we strive on providing a safe, welcoming and supportive environment for the cadets.
What Is Our Focus?
Instill Canadian Military Values
The Army Cadet program is focused on the ethics and values of the Canadian Military. These include loyalty, integrity, courage, inclusion, excellence and accountability. Cadets are taught to embrace and embody these values through experience in a structured environment.
Balance Safety and Challenge
Cadets and their parents/guardians will have confidence that the activities and events are challenging and safe. The adult staff and officers leading the program are focused on the development of the cadets and are invested in their health and welfare.
Develop Citizenship, Leadership, and Fitness
The cadet program offers cadets opportunities to develop skills and knowledge that will enable them to positively contribute as leaders in Canadian society. These opportunities will help instill a lifelong appreciation of health and fitness.
Leave a positive lifelong impact
Whether cadets stay with the program for many years or just a few weeks we strive to ensure that their experiences were impactful, educational and regarded as positive.
Cadets are supervised, administered and trained by Cadet Instructor Cadre (CIC) officers and Non-Commissioned members of the reserve force of the Canadian Armed Forces. These members, by the terms of their enrolment or transfer, have undertaken as their primary duty the safety, supervision, administration and training of Cadets.
