| Return From Camp! Over the summer, many cadets from 2422 attended summer training activities; from staffing, to marksmanship, to fitness and sports, and even some online training. MWO Mackey was sent to Vernon CTC where she stayed for seven and a half weeks as a staff cadet in administration. Sergeant Poole and corporal Stoutenburg attended marksmanship courses, also in Vernon, and had a blast! When asked in an interview, both cadets said they made many new friends, and learned tonnes of new skills. Sergeant Kim went to Blackdown CTC in Borden Ontario for the four week Pipe Band Musician Course and came back with a level two musicianship badge for his uniform. Overall, summer training is a wonderful opportunity for cadets to build their skills, make new friends, and give their parents a quiet home for a bit. MWO Mackey Rating Index: 9/10 (even the food was good this year!) | Jargon De-Mystified: I intend on writhing up a new cadet/parent field manual to explain the confusing parts of the cadet program for next week, but This will serve as a good start for those you will need to know soon. Officer Positions: Capt. – Captain: the rank held by most officers in the cadet program CO – Commanding Officer: The adult head of the cadet corps. Currently Capt V. Stuart Trg-O – Training Officer: The officer in charge of ensuring trg. reqs, are met. Capt O. Canlas Cadet Positions: MWO – Master Warrant Officer: The second highest rank in the cadet program. CSM Company Sergeant Major: The second in command of the Corps. MWO L. Knight Pl WO- Platoon Warrant Officer: The cadet in charge of a platoon, who most questions go to. CQMS – Company Quartermaster Sergeant: The supply senior cadet. Currently WO C. Barnes. |
