Time: Meet at armoury for 1640; parent pick up from armoury at 1530.
What: This is an Area Directed Activity (arranged by our headquarters in Victoria) for all N. VAN ISLE army cadet corps taking place at Seal Bay in Comox. This is a a bivouac-style field training exercise to include erecting a MOD tent, following camp routine, “leave no trace” camping, constructing hoochie shelters, preparing IMP/MRE, emergency/improvised shelters, fire building, methods of signaling, knots and lashings, snares, food sources, and signal fires.
All cadets are invited to attend.

Meals. Cadets should ensure they have had an adequate dinner Friday evening before arriving.
Meals through the exercise will be a mix of Meals Ready to Eat (MREs) and fresh/catered food.
Apart from vegetarian and religious dietary restrictions, other dietary restrictions cannot be
accommodated. Those who are requesting foods to meet vegetarian or religious dietary
restrictions must advise the planning staff in advance. Cadets with food allergies may wish to bring their own snacks to supplement the food provided. A refillable water bottle is required for use while in attendance.
Dress. Field Training Uniform (FTU) will be worn for the duration of this activity. Appropriate civilian attire for those without issues uniform.
Required Kit. Cadets will be responsible for safeguarding their personal belongings and are
expected to respect the personal belongings of others. Those who choose to bring electronic
devices must understand that these devices are not to be used during training sessions unless
needed to support their learning experience and there will be no option to charge devices.
Cadets who have not been issued a field training uniform (FTU) yet should wear and pack
appropriate civilian clothes to be worn outdoors, including good footwear.
